News from Apple Developers – Approximately 30% Price Hike for Apple Apps

Here comes another update from the manufacturer of Apple that the price of Apple apps is going to rise by tonight (Wednesday) in Australia. On Tuesday, this inflation in cost of Apple apps is predicted by Fairfax Media. News regarding the increase in price of apps was announced by the Apple developers on Tuesday evening but they didn’t disclose the exact price rise.

The apps that costs 99 cent will be charged at $1.29 after implementation would be done. This change will be applicable to other apps also like the app that charges $1.99 will cost $2.49 (almost 25% increase), $2.99 apps would be charged at $3.79 (26% rise in price) and $4.49 apps will be charged at $4.99 (an increase of almost 11%). Earlier the maximum charges that a developer can ask for an app was $1049.99 but now it will be increased up to $1299.90 which is straightaway indicates a rise of 23%.

As of now, this rise in price will be applicable to iphone, Mac, iPad, iPad Touch apps as per the message received by the software from Apple. After a year of currency fluctuations this change came. At 5.58 PM on Wednesday, the Australian dollar would be taking 92 US cents.

This query is still unanswered whether price of iTunes music and other products available in other Apple stores are also bound for these price cost or not. As of now there is no news confirmed by Apple Australia regarding these products.

Three years back Apple was appreciated for reducing the price of their App Store in Australia and if the accusations are to be believed then it is assumed that they have earned the untaxed profit of $9 billion (US 8.1 billion) from this announcement over last few years.

This news will be rolled out in few hours and all iOS users will notice this change in their app store soon. So all Apple users, be ready for the increased price of your apps, as you are using one of the biggest and popular brand of smartphones so it’s obvious to pay a little higher amount compared to others.
