Finally the long wait came to an end when Microsoft CEO Satya Narella announced the availability of Microsoft Office for I pads on Thursday. Company has at last unveiled this news as they are taking a step forward to develop their “internet cloud” concept.
On
March 28, Satya Narela has been
quoted as saying "looks like it's a productive Friday for #iPad owners!". He
also shared the below given image that previews the distinct apps available for
Ipad users.
This
office suite for IPad users comprises of 3 distinct apps i.e. Excel, Word as
well as Power Point. Android as well as Apple already had these apps in their
devices since last year, although they were free to download but with an
exception that users must have a subscription of Office 365. But with the latest update provided by Microsoft,
these apps are now free to use on IOS without any requirement to subscribe
Office 365 but with Android, users still needs a subscription. Hope for a
future update for Android too.
Although
Microsoft has said that this app is free to use but it comes with a condition
then users need to invest on the subscription of Office 365 Home (Use it on 5
devices including Tablet with Individual License) or to activate an existing
subscription in order to edit their documents unless they can view them.
After
grabing the correct license, you can easily view the Office ribbon with Home and
other additional tabs provided for each app like Excel has Formula tab, Word
has Insert tab and these two have a View Tab which provides additional options
like to switch on “Spelling”, hide or show headings or gridlines as well as
calculate word count. PowerPoint gets a specified tab for Slide Show as well as
Transition. Other tabs only appear when you need them.
So,
now Ipad users can get the app downloaded from the app store and can avail the
benefits and can browse and edit their Office docs anytime anywhere.
