Android
4.4 (Kitkat) has hit the internet few days back and most of the top devices are
updating their Smartphone with this latest version of Android. It’s been a year
Android is having back to back updation. This series started off in June 2012
as 4.1 Jellybean, after that 4.2.2 update came up in November 2012 and it was
first offered in Nexus 7 and it has several highly advanced features for users.
In July 2013, Android 4.3 was launched which has numerous technically advanced
characteristics and finally in April 2014 the most speculated Android 4.4.2
Kitkat hit the market. Upto now this was the most awaited android version that
has hold the interest of many users across the globe.
Now
when the Kitkat version of Android is launched everywhere so many biggest
companies like Samsung, Sony, Google are doing their best to make available
this latest version of Android for their highly end devices. Even though the
Kitkat version of Android is now available for Smartphone to be downloaded, the
upcoming Android 5.0 version has created a buzz in the online market.
Android
5.0 or you can say Key Lime Pie, the name is still under wraps and no official
announcement was made by Google yet. Although this 5.0 version, was expected to
be launched in 2013 but information about this upcoming version is still under
cover. Nothing has been clearly announced about this Android 5.0 version, the
major questions that are asked everywhere are:
- When Android 5.0 is going to release?
- How Android 5.0 is different from earlier versions of Android including latest 4.4.2 Kitkat update?
- Who will be receiving Android Key Lime Pie Update?
Android 5.0 Release
Date
Until
Android 4.4 Kitkat was not updated, launch of Lime Pie was speculated to be in
October 2013 but now when Kitkat itself gets live in 2014 April then the launch
of Android 5.0 is now expected to be come in late 2014 like October or November,
no official date has announced yet. According to the reports, Android 5.0 is
one year late compared to the time expected for its release. Taylor Wimberly
has quoted “Motorola soon be launching its Nexus Smartphone in the fourth
quarter” i.e. going to be somewhere around October. So, probably we will get to
see latest version of Nexus with Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie.
Google is following
its old strategy, an eminent update has come with Nexus 7 Tablet and a tiny
update with Nexus 4. So, this year may they are planning to launch latest model
of Nexus with Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie, the reason why they are taking so much
time for its launch could be that they wanted to make sure that this update
would perfectly match up with upcoming Apple iOS 7.
There
are not much features discussed openly, only speculations are being made. Some
of the assumed features are:
Google
Babble
This
feature will probably add in Android 5.0, Babble is the name given to the code
of Google cross platform and application, the distinct services provided by
Google in the form of chats, Hangouts, Voice messenger, Google+, Google drive
etc will be called as Google Babel.
Better
Location Tracking
In
the current Android version, many users are found complaining about Google
fails in tracking their accurate information, so this trouble will be
eliminated in the upcoming version.
Improved
Voice Calling
There
are various occasions, when users have to face problem in voice calling due to
network coverage area of other issues. So, this trouble is expected to be
improved.
Mobile
Payments
This
unique feature would be most probably embedded in the latest version of Android
i.e. 5.0
App Launcher
There
are rumors about Google providing this app with a patent, nothing has been
confirmed yet.
Compatible
Devices with Android 5.0
There
is no official list has been provided by Google yet but there are some devices
which are in the buzz of getting latest Android 5.0 update. As we have discussed above that Google Nexus latest
device may be launched with Key Lime Pie version, there are some more devices
in the queue i.e. Samsung Galaxy S4, Samsung Galaxy S3, Galaxy Note 8.0 Tablet, Galaxy Note 10.1
Tablet.
The
list provided above is just a possibility there is no official statement has
proclaimed. Android 5.0 key lime pie will be given to 5 devices but never elucidate
which one.
