Until Android 4.4 Kitkat was not updated, launch of Lime Pie was speculated to be in October 2013 but now when Kitkat itself gets live in 2014 April then the launch of Android 5.0 is now expected to be come in late 2014 like October or November, no official date has announced yet. According to the reports, Android 5.0 is one year late compared to the time expected for its release. Taylor Wimberly has quoted “Motorola soon be launching its Nexus Smartphone in the fourth quarter” i.e. going to be somewhere around October. So, probably we will get to see latest version of Nexus with Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie. 

Google is following its old strategy, an eminent update has come with Nexus 7 Tablet and a tiny update with Nexus 4. So, this year may they are planning to launch latest model of Nexus with Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie, the reason why they are taking so much time for its launch could be that they wanted to make sure that this update would perfectly match up with upcoming Apple iOS 7.
